Principal Dr. Maria Thompson
Dr. Maria Thompson was appointed Interim Principal of Pelham Middle School in 2026 after serving two years as Assistant Principal.
Dr. Thompson has more than a decade of experience as an administrator in Pelham, having previously served as Director of K-12 Humanities. She began career in Pelham in 1999 as a PMHS social studies teacher and quickly became chair of the department.
Dr. Thompson holds Master’s degrees in Social Studies Education and Educational Leadership and Administration from Columbia University and the College of New Rochelle respectively, as well as her educational doctorate from Manhattanville College.
Assistant Principal Jeanette Connolly
Jeanette Connolly was appointed Interim Assistant Principal of Pelham Middle School in 2026 following a long-time career as a teacher at Pelham Memorial High School.
During her time in Pelham, Mrs. Connolly has served as coordinator of the PMHS Bridge Academy, an alternative learning program and led the District’s Teacher Mentor Programming, helping to onboard and develop all new teachers. Additionally, she is the long-time Director of the Freshman Transition Program.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Education & Community Health from the College of Mount St. Vincent, a Master’s of Professional Studies in Special Education & Elementary Studies from Manhattanville College, and a Master’s of Educational Leadership from the College of New Rochelle.
